Underlying all of the life-changing stories we hope to facilitate is a very basic process of finding the need through to seeing the need met. Everyone has a part and every part is important to making a real difference.
How it works.
Field Partners will be responsible for identifying and recommending needy individuals, or potential Recipients, within their designated geographic areas. A Selma's Story staff member will review and approve recommendations and post the needs of Recipients on the Selma's Story Facebook page for the consideration of potential Donors. Interested Donors may choose to fund the entire need themselves, or contribute along with others toward meeting the financial challenge of the Recipient via Paypal.
Once the challenge has been met, the funds are dispersed to the Field Partner to address and resolve the need. The Field Partner verifies that the service has been rendered and paid for, and reports the outcome of the Recipient’s situation through the Selma's Story Facebook page for the Donor or Donors to review.
Through Sponsor contributions to Selma's Story, organizational and transactional costs will be covered, assuring that 100% of Donor funds will go directly to resolve the Recipient’s need. The Recipient’s “story” will detail both his or her life challenge and the ultimate resolution made possible by the Donor or Donors.
Hopefully these stories will inspire Donors to continue funding other critical life needs and encourage them to share their experiences with friends and family members -- and reach others within their social networks.
